Hahn, a cosmopolitan with Saxon roots, was particularly keen to make a fresh start at the old automotive production sites in Zwickau and Chemnitz. After reunification, Hahn's involvement made VW the largest investor in eastern Germany. He thus played a major role in the economic development of our region.
